Learn More About Heart For Africa

Our Story

April 1, 2019

(Hello Everyone) Friends and Family and Happy 2019! I can’t believe it’s already April!!!

It’s hard for us to believe it’s been another year in eSwatini (formerly Swaziland).  On King Mswati III’s 50th birthday, he celebrated by changing the off...

Can you believe we’ve lived in Africa for a year? Wow. Me. Neither.  It literally came and went in a flash.  We stayed extremely busy and enjoyed (almost) every moment as we navigated through unknown waters. It propelled us forward at a rapid speed.  This was probably...

Hey there! It’s Nate. You’re probably wondering why I’m the one writing this blog. The answer…I was forced. But… I do get something out of it too. I don’t have to do my schoolwork for 3 days. So, it’s kind of a win-win situation. You guys get to hear about living in a...

Each week, I spend time with the women of Project Canaan. I love the way they laugh at my attempts to speak SiSwati and their bold, beautiful voices when they sing. I love they are willing to share their story with me. Hard stories. They are…Strong. Brave. Resilient. I...

Video Update

We are the Harps from Dalhart, TX and have 5 children (1 girl, 4 boys) and one fantastic grandson! Shelly traveled to Project Canaan in Swaziland in 2012 and again in 2013 and came home with a heart for Africa. After only a short time on Project Canaan, we knew we were to move to Swaziland for a longer term. We pray we can breathe hope and love into the lives of the children at Project Canaan.

We cannot take this journey alone!
